At the same time, other surgical techniques capable of rejuvenating the eyes and surrounding tissues are gaining popularity, especially now that videoconferencing and face masks have made the gaze the true protagonist of communication.<\/p>\r\n\r\n Periorbital Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery<\/strong> is experiencing a surge in demand from patients of different ages and professions. In addition to the \u201cclassic\u201d and evergreen<\/em> blepharoplasty \u2014 which has evolved considerably in techniques and materials \u2014 procedures targeting the eyebrow area, mid-face lifting<\/strong>, canthopexy<\/strong>, regenerative medicine and volume correction with fillers are key topics of interest.<\/p>\r\n\r\n As highlighted by the Italian Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, it is up to the surgeon\u2019s expertise to determine which procedure a patient truly needs. Often, patients request blepharoplasty when the real need is to lift the eyebrow<\/strong>, adjust the canthus<\/strong> or modify eyelid volume<\/strong>. The correction options in this anatomical district are numerous, and the goal must always be a harmonious and natural result. Beyond blepharoplasty, patients should be informed about other effective procedures for correcting congenital eye features (related to shape, proportion, volume) or achieving an anti-age<\/em> rejuvenation of the gaze.<\/p>\r\n\r\n Canthopexy<\/strong>, for example, allows the surgeon to elevate the outer corner of the eye (the canthus). It is useful for correcting congenital eye shape (such as downward-slanting eyes), reducing lower eyelid laxity due to aging, or modifying the natural eye contour. Canthopexy can also be combined with blepharoplasty to enhance the final result.<\/p>\r\n\r\n The minimally invasive forehead lift<\/strong> aims to reposition the eyebrow while improving the appearance of the upper eyelids and reducing forehead wrinkles. Performed under local anesthesia, it leaves a single scar along the hairline and involves a distinctive grid-like pattern of sutures that requires patients to avoid social activities for several days. Despite this, the results are highly satisfying and long-lasting: a more open gaze, smoother forehead and an overall refreshed appearance.<\/p>\r\n\r\n The Mid-Face Lift<\/strong> is a more complex and invasive procedure performed under general anesthesia. It involves lifting the soft tissues of the mid-face, repositioning them upward and securing them near the orbital rim through small incisions that leave minimal, almost invisible scars. This technique is indicated when the tissues between the eye line and the mouth (excluding the nose) show signs of sagging due to aging. While fillers or autologous fat grafts can restore volume in hollow cheeks, they cannot correct tissue descent.
