Thigh Lift
Through hidden scars within the groin folds, it is possible to restore firmness to the skin of the thighs. After the procedure, at least 10 days of rest from physical activity are required.
This surgery is suitable for individuals with a significant excess of inner thigh skin, often combined with excess adipose tissue. Whether due to weight gain or major weight loss, excess skin typically appears in the inner thigh area, near the groin.
The thigh lift inevitably results in scars (though hidden in natural folds) and requires a demanding recovery period of approximately two weeks with limited movement.
Whenever possible, aesthetic medicine treatments or laser therapy are preferred to correct mild skin laxity of the thighs, using non-invasive technologies such as Ultherapy ultrasound, also effective in reducing the visibility of stretch marks.
Indications and procedure
Thigh lift surgery is recommended for:
- excess skin and fat in the upper inner thighs;
- discomfort or friction during physical activity due to excess skin;
- skin laxity caused by aging or significant weight loss.
If the skin’s elasticity is good, the plastic surgeon may perform a simple liposuction, which allows natural skin retraction through inserted cannulas. The procedure is performed under general anesthesia with one-night hospitalization (outpatient in minor cases).
A hidden incision in the groin fold allows removal of excess skin and upward tightening of tissues using internal sutures. At the end of the surgery, additional liposuction can be performed to remove fat around the inner knees.
Initial results become visible after a few weeks, while the final outcome appears after several months. The quality of the final scars, although hidden, also depends on the patient’s adherence to postoperative rest.
Patients with well-defined glutes or who have undergone previous buttock surgery will see their newly contoured thighs appear even more proportionate and aesthetically enhanced.
